Health and Safety of our students

This training equips staff to recognize and respond to student medical emergencies, including seizures, diabetes-related emergencies, anaphylaxis, cardiac events, and opioid overdoses. Participants will learn how to provide safe seizure care, recognize signs of low or high blood sugar, and respond appropriately during diabetic emergencies. Training also includes recognizing anaphylaxis and hands-on instruction for administering Epi-Pen®, Neffy®, and Narcan® (naloxone). Staff will also have the opportunity to sign up for campus AED teams and learn their roles and responsibilities during a cardiac emergency.

Deconstrucing the TEKS: From Standards to Student Learning

Take a deep dive into the TEKS and learn how to move from simply “covering” standards to truly understanding and teaching them with intention. In this session, participants will break down TEKS into manageable components, identify the cognitive rigor embedded within each standard, and clarify what students need to know and be able to do. Teachers will walk away with practical strategies for unpacking standards, aligning instruction and assessment, and ensuring clarity in lesson design to drive student success.

This presentation will provide an overview of the MTSS process and how monthly meetings involving administrators, interventionists, and teachers work together to support student learning. Participants will explore data documents and tools used to guide decision-making, as well as the types of data discussed during these meetings. The session will also highlight how staff and paraprofessionals are utilized to deliver targeted interventions and how Tier 2 and Tier 3 groups are organized, supported, and monitored for student success.
